Public Toilets

This idea takes on a whole new meaning in France. Yes, there are public toilets available in case you need a pit stop while seeing the sights. But, I'm talking about another toilet...the streets and sidewalks. You must always beware of where you walk as dogs just "go" in the middle of the sidewalk whenever they feel the need. So far, I have not been the unfortunate victim of plopping into a pile of poop and bringing such a treasure to my house. But, I have seven more months...One must also pay attention to not peering down allies, behind buildings, down the stairs at the train or even behind cars. It seems a very French thing for men to just use the restroom right out in front of God and everyone...Just today as I was leaving the post office, I saw a man behind a car and heard what I thought was him pouring something out. Turns out he was not exactly pouring something out! Ugh, I know...it's disgusting and probably not the most appropriate blog post, but it's a part of the French life. Not at all something I enjoy about French life, mind you. Sorry not photos...;)
