A bit of culture shock

So, it comes in waves. This particular wave hit while I was at the grocery store. I wandered around for a mere 30 minutes before leaving with my two purchases. The whole store! I couldn't find anything that I wanted (and knew what it was) and things I might have wanted, I had no clue what they were. But I knew these items...
