All American

This is the first and only representation of the former National Champions that I have seen during my six weeks in Paris. However, I have a new friend. His name's Howard, late 40s, four hummers in his garage and a proud graduate (aren't they all?). While he would not let me take a picture of him with his hat on his head, instead placing it strategically in front of Notre Dame, he did make sure I walked away with his digits so that I could call him upon his return home (Paris) in late March and he can show me around the city. I must have connections or something...

This, friends, is my new friend Sapphire. She is from Louisiana, and of course, bleeds purple and gold. (We are all entitled to a few shortcomings.) And, this is how one orders at Subway in Paris. If it looks familiar, it's because it is the same!

The lunch was delightful and I may become a frequent visitor. They have that good ice! While you fix your own drink, you cannot have free refills. They wouldn't have it any other way here.

This picture needs no explanation. I am definitely enjoying the European style, and will want to take the stores with me when I leave, there's just something about Gap that warms my heart.

Of course, Starbucks. What better way to end a day of needing to be reacquainted with all things American then with Starbucks? We were at this one and could see another just down the street. I think this little chain may be well on its way to world domination.

Hey, I'm glad you found some familiar "faces" over there. It's hard enough being in Florida, I can't imagine what it's like in a different country. I still think of you often and love you!

USC in front of Notre Dame? That sounds about right.
