Politcs?

I've always been more than a little interested in current events. I think it goes back to elementary G/T when we had to bring in that section from Sunday's newspaper so that we, 6th graders, could discuss the world around us. Or, because when I was growing up, most mornings were spent with my dad at the table eating breakfast with the newspaper.

Currently, I have actually found myself quite intrigued by the election preparations. Be it because I am so far removed from America or because upon reentry to America this election will occur and I will be totally grown up and in the world as an adult. A lot is at stake. When I first heard that Mike Huckabee was putting himself in the running, I chuckled a little. I told myself I will not be one of those people who goes around saying vote for Huckabee because he's from Arkansas. (I remember being all for Bill Clinton because he was from Arkansas! Hey, I was a kid.) Months passed and I thought very little about it. Then, some non-Arkansan friends sent me a link to some clips on him. I was impressed. I started reading up and talking about Mike Huckabee, (now I'm a little obsessed to know what's going on and what the polls look like). Not because he's from Arkansas but because I think he might be the best man for the job. I was pleased to find that people I respect are thinking the same way. So, I'm doing what I sometimes poke fun at and blogging a blurb about politics. Note, I'm not interested in a debating this issue. It is on my mind and he needs all the support that he can get. I want to give him all the support I can. It is important to me.

I didn't know Huck went to the same college as a certain famous hall of fame inductee! Were the two amigos?
