The good mayor of the city of Paris declared Aug 19, 20 and 21 3 euro movie days! Today, I had the pleasure of joining a friend for 3 movies! The first show was Evan Almighty. I know, we're a little behind the times. You know it really wasn't called Evan Almighty. But, it was the same movie and the words were in English. It brought a smile to my face. We learned that the world is changeable and that God loves. This was followed by Transformers and Two Days in Paris, because one cannot get enough of Paris.
A day filled with movies seems only fit to end with a reality check. You see, I live in quite a naive world. (This is actually new...) Usually when I am told something horrific, I have a hard time believing it. (While, when I am told something completely ridiculous, I believe no problem! Go figure.) I recently had a friend explain to me what it really means when the train says "Accident Grave" and why the trains slow down when they go through dark areas. I always thought it was technical or mechanical. Even though when it is technical the signs all say "Technical". Turns out, people actually find themselves, either intentionally or accidentally on the train tracks as the train is approaching. "Accident Grave"=Usually that the person and the train have met. Tonight, on my ride home, as the train went through somewhat of a tunnel at 1mph I knew, or at least really thought about, why we had slowed our pace. I held my breath, as I'm sure the driver did also, and found myself saddened by darkness and all that it entails. (Note: There was no "Accident Grave" this evening. Just caution.)
On a lighter note, I also couldn't believe that it was just after 8pm and the sun was turning in. He has been staying awake until almost 11pm! Time flies. Summer is over. (I'm actually happy, even if this post is kind of depressing. :))
Here are some things I'm looking forward to:
-Darren McFadden proving himself to be "The No. 1 Back in the Land".
-Volunteer Teams!
-Visitors!!
-Euro Disney.
-Ice skating...maybe at the Eiffel Tower. (This one is far off...)
-Learning more about God.
-Communicating better in French.
-Finding somewhere to get a pedicure!!

My own thoughts on your post:
Darren McFadden is a beast.
Movies are the greatest, regardless of the language.
That is completely depressing about the train.
if you get a pedicure in france, do they call it a french pedicure or is it simple widdled down to pedicure. thoughts to ponder.
